Ana's song "Hunger" is a winner of the 2002 international Songs Inspired By Literature songwriting competition. (The song was inspired by the T.S. Eliot poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.") As a winner of this competition, "Hunger" is now part of a compilation CD that also includes songs by Tom Waits, David Bowie, Rosanne Cash, and Vicki Randle. The CD is sold nationally as a benefit for literacy projects. See www.siblproject.org for more info.

The story was picked up by Rolling Stone, Billboard, the New York Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

"As a talent buyer I was really impressed by Ana's style. She has great stage presence and that rare ability to keep people captivated thoughout her set . She creates a feeling that people are seeing somebody they should remember."
-Jim Greer, Talent Buyer, Paradise Lounge, San Francisco

"On her three-song release, Ana develops a songwriting style that defies categorization as she offers lyrics that sound simultaneously fresh and idiomatic, original yet accessible."
-Andrew Lindner, WSPN 91.1 Skidmore College Radio

"Ana is a very talented singer/songwriter. We get dozens of demos a week, and hers stood out from the pack. She has impossibly catchy songs that somehow capture a sense of the exotic and a hint of darkness, while still bouncing around your head like a good pop song." -Guy King, Fortune Records, Berkeley, CA
